ELIAS GILBERT

Conductor, Clarinetist, and Composer

Elias Gilbert is a conductor, clarinetist, and composer from Santa Cruz, California, currently based in Baltimore, Maryland. He is focused on pushing boundaries and bringing joy in instrumental music. Click here to view full bio.

Elias serves as Music Director of the Hopkins Medical Orchestra, and has previously served as Head Conductor of the Davenport Pops Orchestra, Music Director of the Yale Undergraduate Chamber Orchestra, and Assistant Conductor of the Yale Symphony Orchestra. In 2026, he will begin his tenure as Music Director of the University of Alabama Campus Orchestra, studying orchestral conducting with Ransom Wilson. For more information, click here.

Elias' compositions have been premiered at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music and his arrangements have been performed by the Davenport Pops Orchestra and Yale Symphony Orchestra. View catalog. 

Elias graduated from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Music in 2026, studying Clarinet Performance with Alexander Fiterstein, and from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics in 2024.
